The analog version of Fire Magic's EL500 electric grill: the same 6,000 watt 240 volt element, 304 stainless housing and patented Diamond Sear grids as the touchscreen models, with a thermostatic knob and a mechanical timer in place of the digital control and Bluetooth. It reaches 650 F and preheats in under fifteen minutes, which is why this is the electric grill that actually sears rather than just heats.

Electric makes sense where gas is not an option. Balconies, condo terraces, roof decks and anywhere a fire code or a building rule rules out propane and a gas line is impractical. There is no tank to store, no cylinder to swap, and nothing to vent.

The analog control is the reason to choose this model over the touchscreen versions: there is no circuit board behind the knob, so there is less to go wrong on a grill that lives outdoors, and it costs substantially less for identical cooking performance.

Required to Complete the Installation

This grill needs a dedicated 230/240 VAC single-phase circuit on a 30 A minimum GFCI breaker, hard-wired by a licensed electrician. That is the single most important thing to settle before ordering: it is not a 120 V appliance and it does not plug into a standard outlet. The grill draws 25 A at 6,000 watts, so an existing 15 A or 20 A convenience circuit will not run it.

The enclosure must be non-combustible, with a 33 in wide by 17 1/2 in deep opening and 7 1/4 in of clear depth from the underside of the countertop to the bottom of the unit. Allow 8 in to any rear or side wall, 24 in if the grill sits in a corner, and 5 ft of overhead clearance. The grill is 35 in wide overall, so the island face needs to be wider than the 33 in cut-out itself.

No gas line, no propane cylinder and no vent hood are required.

Warranty

Fire Magic warrants this grill in tiers. The stainless steel cooking grids and housing of an electric grill are warranted for ten (10) years. Heating elements are warranted for five (5) years. All other grill components, excluding ignition and electronic parts, are warranted for three (3) years. Electronic components, including lights and thermometers, and grill accessories are warranted for one (1) year. The warranty applies to the original purchaser with proof of purchase and to single family residential use. Warranty claims are handled through your authorized Fire Magic dealer.
