The Blaze BLZ-48-VHOOD2 is a 48 inch outdoor vent hood with two blowers, made for a wide built-in run such as a large grill with a side burner under a covered patio. Two separate exhaust paths let each blower work at full strength, stainless baffle filters catch grease the way a restaurant hood does, and lights over the cooking surface help after dark.

Installation Notes

Blaze's manual says to plug in and test the lights and fans before installing, mount the hood 36 to 40 in above the cooking surface, keep the two exhaust paths separate rather than combining them, and use metal or aluminum duct sealed at the joints. Do not terminate into an attic or enclosed space, and do not use plastic, corrugated flexible duct or 4 in laundry-type caps. Always run the blowers when cooking. In New York City, exterior ducting and penetrations may need building approval, so plan this with your contractor early. Can I combine the two outlets into one duct?

No. Blaze says to keep two separate exhaust paths, each with its own 1,000 CFM rated cap, so the motors do not compete.

What duct size does it use?

Do I need a hood for a covered patio?

Warranty

Blaze's manual gives a one year, parts only warranty from the date of original purchase on non-consumable parts that fail from manufacturing defects. Light bulbs and filters, wear, improper maintenance, abrasive cleaners, abuse, improper installation and accident or natural disaster are not covered.
