The Challenger Designs In-Stock 18 in Side Burner Cabinet (OGGB-183528) is a single-door base cabinet built to carry a drop-in side burner or power burner, with storage below. It is a weather-sealed, powder-coated aluminum outdoor kitchen cabinet that ships fully assembled from Empire's in-stock program in as little as two weeks, instead of the 6 to 8 week custom lead time. Set it next to the grill cabinet and finish the run with an aluminum, stainless steel or stone countertop.

What Is Included and What You Will Need

  • One Challenger In-Stock 18 in Side Burner Cabinet, fully assembled, in the selected color, door style and hinge
  • You will need: a countertop (Challenger 30 in deep aluminum ACT-30 or stainless SST-30, quoted per lineal inch, or your own stone) cut for the burner, plus the Inside Corner Kit for L-shaped runs and filler panels for odd dimensions
  • You will also need: the drop-in side burner or power burner, and the gas connection and enclosure venting that its manufacturer requires

Optional Accessories

  • Color-matched back panels, end panels, filler panels and toe-kick kits in the same in-stock colors to finish the run

Installation Notes

Set the cabinet on a level, load-bearing surface and use the stainless leveling legs to true it before joining neighboring cabinets with the standard connection hardware. The finished back panel lets it stand alone or back against a wall.

For a gas side burner, follow the burner manufacturer's requirements for enclosure venting, clearances, insulated sleeves and gas shutoff access.

In New York City, gas lines to built-in appliances require a licensed master plumber and a DOB permit, and rooftop installations often need building approval.

Is a countertop included?

No. Challenger In-Stock cabinets are base modules; order a 30 in deep aluminum or stainless countertop, or use stone, cut for your burner.

Is the side burner included?

No. The cabinet is built to carry a drop-in side burner or power burner, which is sold separately.

Which colors are in stock?

This cabinet comes in Pan (flat panel) doors in Anthracite, Black, Cappuccino or Grey Glimmer, or Shaker doors in Anthracite or White.

Can it go on a rooftop or deck?

Yes, the adjustable stainless legs help level it on decks and pavers, but confirm that the structure can carry the finished kitchen.
