The Blaze BLZ-42-VHOOD2 is a 42-inch, wall-mounted stainless steel outdoor vent hood for grills up to 42 inches wide. Two 1,000 CFM blowers (2,000 CFM total) with a 4-speed control pull smoke and heat away from a covered outdoor kitchen, and commercial-style baffle filters keep grease out of the ductwork.

Installation Notes
Blaze calls for 36 to 40 in between the cooking surface and the bottom of the hood; mounting lower risks heat damage and mounting higher reduces smoke capture. Keep the two 8 in exhaust paths separate rather than combining them, use rigid metal duct with as few elbows as possible (no more than three 90s, 24 in of straight pipe between elbows), and never terminate into an attic or enclosed space. Do not use plastic, laundry-type 4 in caps or corrugated flex duct. Always run the blowers while the grill is on.
In New York City, ducting through a building wall or roof normally needs building and often landmark or co-op approval, so plan the termination point early.

Can the two blower outlets be combined into one duct?
Blaze advises against it. Keep two separate 8 in runs, each to its own cap rated for 1,000 CFM, so the motors do not compete.
How high should it be mounted?
36 to 40 in from the top of the cooking surface to the bottom of the hood, and never less than 36 in.
Does it vent to the top or the rear?
Either. The blower motors are reversible for top or rear exhaust.
Do I need a vent hood outdoors?
Under a roof, pergola or covered patio, a properly ducted hood removes smoke, heat and grease that would otherwise collect on the ceiling.

Warranty
Blaze covers the vent hood for one year from the date of original purchase, parts only: non-consumable parts or components that fail due to manufacturing defects are repaired or replaced. Not covered: consumables such as light bulbs and filters, natural wear, improper maintenance or abrasive cleaners, damage from abuse, misuse or improper installation, and accident, fire, flood or natural disaster. Labor is not included.
