Description
Description
Overall Dimensions: Width: 42-5/8", Height: 46-1/2", Depth: 17-1/2"
The Dimplex Ignite Aspire ASP42 is a 42-inch built-in portrait electric firebox for homeowners who want the proportions of a classic wood-burning hearth with no chimney, gas line or venting. Eleven quick-connect Rhythmic Inner Glow logs sit over a tumbled glass ember bed behind Dimplex's patented Dynamic-Fire flame effect, and the same unit can be finished front-facing, left or right corner, or as a three-sided bay. With no venting or gas required, it suits NYC apartments and renovations where a real fireplace is not possible.

Installation Notes
The ASP42 needs no venting or gas, so it can go in most apartments and condos, including those in NYC buildings that do not allow gas fireplaces. Frame the opening to 42-3/4 W x 47 H x 18 D in. so the header carries the wall above; the firebox is not load-bearing. The 120 V plug kit works for 120 V only; 240 V must be hardwired, and wiring enters at the top right rear. Keep the top 24 in. below the ceiling, and protect a bathroom install with a GFCI. This model is for indoor use only. Use a licensed electrician for hardwired circuits. Our team can design the surround and handle the install; start with a design consultation.
Warranty
Dimplex Aspire 5-year limited warranty for the original purchaser on ASP30, ASP36, ASP42 and ASP48 fireboxes, excluding trims and accessory packages. It includes on-site or in-home service, with Glen Dimplex Americas covering labor and transportation, subject to the exceptions in the manual (for example, sites more than 30 miles from the nearest service depot). Valid in the US (except Hawaii and Alaska) and Canada (except Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut).

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I plug it in, or does it need an electrician?
It ships with a plug kit for a 120 V outlet, ideally on a dedicated 15 A circuit. For the full 2,500 W heat it must be hardwired at 240 V by an electrician.
Can I use it as a corner or three-sided fireplace?
Yes. Remove the side panel or panels and add the Left/Right Bay Trim Kit 500003785 for left corner, right corner or bay layouts.
Can I mount a TV above it?
Yes, if you follow the TV maker's guidance. Dimplex states surfaces 10 in. above the unit stay under 40 C in normal heat mode, and you can disable the heater entirely.
