Dimplex CBX1000-AM Optimyst RGB Pro Box 40" Built-In Water Vapor Fireplace

Overall Dimensions: 46-5/8" W x 16-1/4" D x 31-3/4" H (with flange)

The Dimplex Optimyst RGB Pro Box 40 (CBX1000-AM) is a pre-built water vapor firebox that frames into a wall as one unit, with the RGB Optimyst cassettes and front glass already installed. It suits a designer media wall, a room divider or a see-through partition, since a rear glass pane converts it to a two-sided fireplace. You are paying for the Optimyst 3D flame and smoke effect, full color control and a concealed heater, with no gas, flue or venting.

Installation Notes

The Pro Box ships assembled and ready for hardwire installation into a framed wall. Leave 2 ft of service cable and finish drywall after the unit is set. The four rear flanges can be removed if wall depth is tight, and must come off to remove the back panel for two-sided use. Keep it away from HVAC registers, ceiling fans and drafts, which disturb the mist flame. The unit is not watertight, so keep it away from tubs and showers. Because it is electric and burns nothing, it needs no chimney or vent, which makes it a practical choice for New York City apartments and townhouses; local codes and building rules still govern the electrical and plumbing work. Dimplex requires installation by qualified personnel; schedule a design consultation and our team will plan the framing, power and water with your contractor.

Warranty

Dimplex 2-year limited warranty on the heater and electrical components from the date of purchase, for the original purchaser, with on-site or in-home warranty service through an authorized Dimplex service agent.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the CBX1000-AM have a heater?

Yes. A concealed fan-forced heater provides supplemental heat for up to 400 sq ft, and the flame can run with the heat off.

Do I need a water line?

Dimplex designs it to connect to a main water line with the optional plumbing kit for continuous operation. It also has a refillable tank, which must be filled with filtered or decalcified water when the low water alert sounds.

Can it be installed as a see-through fireplace?

Yes. Remove the rear flanges and back panel, add the GBF1000-GLASS rear pane, and reinstall the flanges. The heater only exhausts toward one side, so decide which room gets the heat before framing.

Is ember media included?

No. The tray ships empty so you can choose glass, river rock, acrylic crystals or logs in the options above.
