The Dimplex Vital Essence ESN50 is a 50 in linear electric fireplace with a slim 5-3/4 in profile that hangs on the wall or recesses flush into 2x6 framing. Its LED flame plays over a glass ember bed in 13 flame colors with adjustable speed and brightness, controlled by the touch panel, the remote or the Dimplex app, with a 1,500 W fan-forced heater for supplemental heat.

Installation Notes
Dimplex requires a 15 A, 120V circuit; a dedicated circuit is preferred and becomes necessary if the breaker trips when the heater runs. Plan the framing so the power cable can reach the wiring entry at the bottom right of the firebox, keep at least 1/2 in of air space behind the unit, and frame the opening so wall materials do not bear on the top of the fireplace.
Electric fireplaces need no chimney, vent or gas line, which makes them one of the few fireplace options most New York City co-op and condo boards approve. Any hardwired connection is electrical work for a licensed electrician in NYC.

Yes. It sits flush in 2x6 framing (50-5/8 x 16 x 5-1/2 in opening) or partially recessed in 2x4 framing with the XLFTRIM kit.
Does it have an app?

Does it plug in?
Yes. It plugs into a 120V outlet on a 15 A circuit; the guide also covers hardwiring.
Can I run it without heat?
Yes. The flames and ember bed run without the heater for year-round use.

Dimplex covers this fireplace with a one-year limited warranty against defects in material and workmanship from the date of first purchase, for the original purchaser in the 50 US states (except Hawaii and Alaska) and Canada (except the territories), with service by Dimplex authorized dealers or service agents, per the installation and user's guide.
