Installation Notes
Two people are needed to lift the firebox. Frame the opening at 74-5/8" W x 16" H, set the face flush with the finished wall, and keep the firebox face from being recessed. The unit is not load-bearing, and stone or brick finishes may overhang the face by no more than 1/2" so heated air can escape. Follow your TV or mantel maker's guidance for anything mounted above, using the overhang temperature zones in the manual. For covered outdoor use, follow the current Dimplex outdoor installation instructions; the store-hosted manual below is an earlier indoor revision. Electrical work should be done by a licensed electrician; book a design consultation and we will plan the wall, circuit and finish with you.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can the Ignite Evolve 74 go outdoors?
Yes, in a covered location. Dimplex certifies Ignite Evolve for covered exterior installation, with a 1-year warranty outdoors versus 5 years indoors.
Do I need the trim kit?
Not in a 2x6 wall, where the unit recesses fully. In a 2x4 wall the firebox sits partly proud of the wall, and Dimplex recommends the XLFTRIM74 kit to finish the protruding edge.
Should I wire it for 120V or 240V?
The flame is identical. 240V raises heat from 1,500 W to 2,500 W, which matters in a large room. For mostly ambiance, 120V is simpler.
Can I mount a TV above it?
Yes. Dimplex publishes overhang temperature zones in the manual; follow them and your TV maker's heat guidance when setting the height.

Warranty
Dimplex 5-year limited warranty with in-home parts and service for indoor installations, and 1-year for outdoor installations. The XLFTRIM74 trim kit carries a 1-year limited warranty.
