The Dimplex IgniteXL 74 (XLF74) is a 74-inch built-in linear electric fireplace with edge-to-edge glass and a panoramic Multi-Fire XD flame in a unit under 6 inches deep. It suits condos, high-rises and media walls where there is no gas line or chimney, and Dimplex certifies the IgniteXL line for covered outdoor use. The Comfort$aver heater can be run with the flames or turned off.

Installation Notes
Frame the opening at 74-5/8 in W, with the bottom sill at least 3-1/2 in deep. The power cord is for 120V installations only and extension cords must not be used. For covered outdoor use Dimplex requires a location sheltered by an overhang with height no more than 3 times its projection, and recommends a ground-fault protected circuit. This is an electric unit with no gas line, vent or chimney, which makes it a practical choice for New York City apartments, condos and townhouses where gas or vented fireplaces are not an option. Warranty
Dimplex provides a 5-year limited warranty for indoor installations and a 1-year limited warranty for outdoor installations, with parts and in-home service for the original purchaser. The XLFTRIM74 trim kit carries a 1-year warranty.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can the XLF74 be used outdoors?
Yes, on a covered patio or terrace. Dimplex requires an overhang shelter with overhang height no more than 3 times its projection to keep warranty coverage.
Can it go in a 2x4 wall?
Yes. It recesses fully in a 2x6 wall, and the optional XLFTRIM74 trim kit is recommended for 2x4 framing.
Does it heat a room?
It has a 1,500 W heater at 120V or 2,500 W at 240V, and Dimplex says it warms up to 1,000 sq ft. You can also run the flames with no heat.
Is the plug cord included?
The Dimplex guide lists a power cord in the package contents for 120V installs. Use hardwiring for 240V.
