The Dimplex IgniteXL 100 is a 100-inch built-in linear electric fireplace that gives you a panoramic flame over 8 feet wide in a unit only 5-7/8 inches deep. It suits condos, high-rises and any wall without a gas line or chimney, and Dimplex certifies the IgniteXL line for covered outdoor use too. The Multi-Fire XD flame, media accent colors and Comfort$aver ceramic heater make it a feature wall and a supplemental heat source in one.

What Is Included and What You Will Need

• Required: a dedicated, properly fused 15 A circuit at 120V or 240V; for 240V the unit is hardwired by a licensed electrician

• Optional media: ember bed media, tumbled glass ember bed and faux wood split log set

Installation Notes

No vent, chimney or gas line is needed. Wire it to 120V or 240V, or use the supplied plug-in cord at 120V, and do not use an extension cord. Frame the opening at 100-5/8" W x 16" H, keep the top at least 24 inches from the ceiling per the current manual, mount the bottom 30 to 40 inches above the floor for the best flame viewing angle, and have a licensed electrician handle any new circuit. For outdoor use Dimplex requires a sheltered location under an overhang and recommends a ground-fault protected circuit. Frequently Asked Questions

Can the XLF100 be used outdoors?

Yes, on a covered patio or terrace. Dimplex requires a location sheltered by an overhang, with the overhang height no more than 3 times its projection to keep warranty coverage.

Can it go in a 2x4 wall?

Yes. The unit recesses fully in a 2x6 wall, and the optional XLFTRIM100 trim kit allows installation in 2x4 wall construction.

Does it heat a room?

It has a Comfort$aver ceramic heater rated 1,500 W at 120V or 2,500 W at 240V, and Dimplex says it warms up to 1,000 sq. ft. You can also run the flames with no heat.

Warranty

Dimplex backs the IgniteXL with a 5-year limited warranty for indoor installations, including parts and in-home service, and a 1-year limited warranty for outdoor installations. The trim kit carries a 1-year warranty.
