The EcoSmart Fire Stix 8 is the larger version of the award-winning Stix, a sculptural fire pit of upward-reaching steel rods designed by Barcelona-based designer Hiroshi Tsunoda. It burns e-NRG bioethanol in an AB8 burner, so there is no smoke, ash or gas line, and it can be unpacked, set in place and lit. It makes a striking centerpiece on a terrace, garden or pool deck.

Installation Notes

Stix 8 is rated for outdoor use. Set it on a level, non-combustible surface away from overhanging branches and items that can move in the wind, and keep the clearances in the EcoSmart manual. In coastal areas or near pools, EcoSmart says to wash it down regularly to remove salt or pool water and prevent rust. Open flame is restricted on many NYC terraces and rooftops, so confirm with your building or co-op before ordering. Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Stix 8 need a gas line?

No. It burns e-NRG bioethanol from a refillable AB8 burner, with no gas or electrical connection.

How is it different from the original Stix?

Stix 8 is the larger model, 42.7 in tall versus 30.7 in, with the bigger AB8 burner. The original Stix uses an AB3 burner.

Can I use it indoors?

EcoSmart lists the Stix 8 application as outdoor.

How long does a fill last?

About 7 to 9 hours at full output, or 9 to 11 hours with the efficiency ring fitted.

Warranty

Per the EcoSmart operations manual, stainless steel parts, including powder coated and black ceramic coated finishes, carry a 2-year limited warranty from the date of purchase, and mild steel, glass and other listed materials carry 1 year. Chips and scratches are not covered. Where snow accumulates, EcoSmart requires its cover to be used to keep coverage.
