The Dimplex DIR30A10GR is the 3000 W, 240 V model of the DIR Series indoor and outdoor infrared heater: a 51 in, wall-mounted halogen infrared heater behind a ceramic glass face that delivers heat in seconds to a patio, porch or garage, with a remote, three heat settings and a delay timer.

Installation Notes

Mount the heater level on a wall at least 8 ft above the floor at a 30 or 45 degree angle, keep the clearances above, and have it hardwired by a licensed electrician to a dedicated 240 V circuit. For outdoor installation, Dimplex requires the junction box cover gasket to be installed correctly or the warranty is void.

In New York City, a new 240 V heater circuit on a terrace, balcony or roof requires a licensed electrician and an electrical permit, and co-op or condo boards often require approval.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can it be mounted on the ceiling?

No. Dimplex prohibits ceiling mounting for the 2200 W and 3000 W DIR models; mount it on a wall at 30 or 45 degrees.

Can it be used outdoors?

Yes. It is outdoor rated; install the junction box cover gasket correctly.

Does it plug in?

No. The 3000 W model is hardwired to a dedicated 240 V circuit.

Glen Dimplex Americas warrants this infrared heater to the original purchaser against defects in material and workmanship for 1 year from the date of first purchase, per the DIR Series owner's manual. Coverage applies in the 50 US states (except Hawaii and Alaska) and Canada (except the territories); installation, removal and transport costs are the purchaser's responsibility.
