The Modern Flames Redstone 54 (RS-5435) is a traditional-look electric fireplace that either slides into an existing zero clearance wood-burning fireplace or builds flush into a new wall. It is the easy way to turn a fireplace you no longer burn, or a blank wall, into a working fire with real heat.
Hybrid-FX flame technology fills a tall vertical viewing area, with driftwood logs, an acrylic crystal ember bed and independently controlled flame, ember and downlight colors. It plugs into a standard 120V outlet and heats with a 1,465 W (5,000 BTU) heater with thermostat.

For a new wall, frame a finished opening of 50-15/16 in. W x 32-3/4 in. H x 12 in. D with an outlet inside; for an insert install, slide it into an existing zero clearance wood-burning fireplace. Plug it into a dedicated 110-120V, 15 A grounded outlet. Modern Flames provides do-it-yourself installation instructions, and we install it across NYC and Long Island. Frequently Asked Questions
Can it go into my existing wood-burning fireplace?
Yes. Modern Flames designed it to slide into an existing zero clearance wood-burning fireplace. Measure the opening first; the 54 needs a 50-15/16 in. x 32-3/4 in. space and 12 in. of depth.
Does it need hard-wiring?
No. It plugs into a dedicated 110-120V, 15 A grounded outlet.
Which trim should I use?
Both are in the box: the 5/8 in. trim for a tight built-in finish, or the 1-5/8 in. overlap trim, which laps further over the edge of the opening.
How much heat does it give?
Up to 5,000 BTU from a 1,465 W heater with a thermostat, for supplemental room heat.

Warranty
Modern Flames limited warranty: 5 years from the date of purchase when the product is registered with Modern Flames, or the standard 2 years if it is not registered. If the product has an integrated screen, the screen is covered for 1 year, and the warranty includes a labor credit for one service in the first year. Coverage applies only to products bought through an authorized Modern Flames dealer, is not transferable, and does not extend to consumable service parts.
