The Napoleon Woodland 18 (NEFI18H) is an 18 in. electric log set that turns an unused masonry fireplace into a working electric fireplace without a gas line or chimney work. Installation Notes

Clean the firebox, seal chimney drafts with non-combustible material and cap the flue, then set the log set about 2 in. from the rear wall for the best flame effect. Napoleon requires a minimum cavity of 14 in. H x 18 in. W x 14 in. D and a dedicated 15 A, 120V grounded outlet; extension cords are not permitted, and hardwiring must be done by a qualified electrician. Keep furniture and curtains at least 36 in. from the front. Electric fireplaces need no gas line or venting, which makes them a practical choice for New York City apartments and co-ops, subject to building or board approval for any electrical work.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will it fit my fireplace?

Napoleon requires a cavity of at least 14 in. H x 18 in. W x 14 in. D. Measure the opening, not the face of the surround.

Does it need venting or a gas line?

No. It is electric and plugs into a standard 120V outlet, or it can be hardwired.

Can I run the flames without heat?

Yes. The heater is controlled separately and can be locked off, so the flame and ember lights run on their own.

How much heat does it make?

The heater draws up to 1,500 W on high, supplemental heat for one room.
