The American Fyre Designs Marseille 32 (series 753) is a shallow, sculpted GFRC fire bowl made for pedestals, pilasters, pool edges and low walls, where its 8-1/2 inch profile reads as architecture rather than a fire pit. A 16 inch stainless steel star burner delivers 65,000 BTU on natural gas or propane, and AFD offers an optional water spout for a combined fire and water feature. Each bowl is handcrafted to order in the USA.

What Is Included and What You Will Need

  • Included: the fire bowl in your selected finish with stainless burner and manual flame sensing valve system (water spout fitted on spout versions); the current listing also includes a base bag of lava granules
  • Required: decorative media (AFD calls for 20 lb lava or 30 lb fire glass), a level pedestal or base rated for 90 lb plus media, and a gas supply at 5 to 10.5 in w.c. natural gas or 11 to 13 in w.c. propane
  • Water spout versions: a water source and pump system designed by your pool or water feature contractor
  • Propane: a remote cylinder in a separate enclosure, such as an AFD tank table with an extension hose
  • Optional: AFD 8142A protective vinyl cover

Installation Notes

This is an outdoor-only decorative gas appliance. Set it on a hard, level surface and keep 3 ft of clearance from the sides to any construction and 6 ft overhead. Gas lines should be run by a licensed plumber; in New York City that means a licensed master plumber and a DOB permit, and the FDNY restricts propane cylinders on roofs, terraces and balconies, so natural gas is usually the right fuel in the five boroughs. American Fyre Designs calls for 20 lb of lava or 30 lb of fire glass.

What does the water spout option add?

A spout that pours water from the bowl edge while the fire burns, for a fire and water feature. It needs a water supply and pump.

Can I use a propane tank?

Yes, in a separate cylinder enclosure; the bowl has no tank storage.
