The Fire Garden 96 inch Linear Fire Pit Burner is a drop-in gas burner system for building an eight foot custom fire pit or fire table in stone, block or concrete. At 185,000 BTU it delivers a long, tall flame line that reads from across a large patio, and it comes with its own glass wind guard, switch and key valve, so the mason only has to build a non-combustible enclosure to the manual's framing size. Fire Garden is made by Travis Industries.

What Is Included and What You Will Need

  • Included: 34 inch 1 inch gas flex line and adapter, glass wind guard with brackets (4 sides and 2 ends), LP conversion kit, wall switch and cover, gas key valve with chrome flange and 3 inch and 18 inch keys, (2) enclosure vents.
  • Required: 24V Multiple Appliance Transformer, Fire Garden SKU 94800830. Fire Garden states the single appliance transformer (94800833) is not compatible with the 96 inch burner.
  • Required: burner media. Fire Garden calls for 35 lbs of crushed glass (4 boxes) or 80 lbs small plus 40 lbs large tumbled stone; options are selectable above. Do not use lava rock or other porous media.
  • You will need: switched 110V GFCI protected circuit to the transformer, low voltage and line voltage wiring, gas piping, a weatherproof box if the switch is mounted outdoors, and a non-combustible enclosure with finish surface wide enough to seat the wind guard.

Installation Notes

For outdoor installation on a fixed gas line, by a qualified installer. The burner must sit level on a surface that can carry its weight, inside non-combustible framing sized per the manual, and the enclosure must have at least two vents on opposite sides drawing outdoor air. Keep 24 inches clear of combustibles on every side and at least 75 inches from the top of the burner to any ceiling, away from overhanging trees and foot traffic. In New York City, gas piping must be installed by a licensed plumber and fire features on terraces and rooftops may need additional review. We build custom fire pits in NYC and Long Island; book a design consultation to plan the enclosure, gas run and finish.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size enclosure do I build for the 96 inch burner?

Frame a non-combustible opening of at least 96-1/4" x 12-1/4" with 10-7/8" minimum depth, or 97-3/4" x 13-3/4" for a recessed landscape block install. The top surface must be wide enough to seat the 99-1/2" x 15-5/8" wind guard.

Which transformer works with this burner?

Only the 24V Multiple Appliance Transformer (94800830). Fire Garden lists the single appliance transformer (94800833) as not compatible with the 72, 96 and 120 inch burners.

How much media do I need?

Four 10 lb boxes of crushed glass, or eight boxes of small and two boxes of large tumbled stone.

Can I put it under a pergola or roof?

Only if there are at least 75 inches from the top of the burner to the ceiling and the space meets the manual's outdoor area definition.

Warranty

Backed by the Travis Industries Limited 7 Year Warranty for residential installations: 7 years on the burner assembly and 2 years on the gas control and electrical assemblies.
