The Warming Trends CROSSFIRE CFBO is an octagonal brass burner kit for building or converting a round or square gas fire pit. Each kit pairs a 100% brass CROSSFIRE burner, whose jets mix gas and air for tall, bright flames, with a flex line kit, a key valve kit and match lit operation.
Choose from 5 sizes from 140,000 to 360,000 BTU, natural gas or propane, and add an 18 to 42 in. circular or square plate if you do not already have one. The four smaller sizes are listed with a WATERSTOP fitting.

What Is Included and What You Will Need
- Included: CROSSFIRE CFBO brass burner, flex line kit (two on larger sizes), key valve kit with chrome decorative flange and two keys, match lit setup
- Optional (select above): circular or square burner plate
- Required: a non-combustible, vented enclosure, a gas shutoff outside the fire feature, a licensed gas installer and fire-rated media
Installation Notes
Build a non-combustible enclosure with at least two vents of 18 sq. in. each on opposing sides, placed mid to low; do not fill the cavity with gravel, rock or concrete; support the plate on blocks, bricks or brackets rather than on the gas valve, per Warming Trends instruction manual V3.1. Keep 36 in. horizontal and 120 in. overhead clearance to combustibles and fit a gas shutoff outside the fire feature. A licensed gas professional should make the connection and leak test. Certification: every CFBO size in this kit (CFBO140, CFBO180, CFBO280, CFBO320 and CFBO360) is listed as match lit on the Warming Trends certified burner list in the Version 6 manual (6/26) and in ICC-ES listing PMG-1213 (effective March 2026), to ANSI Z21.97/CSA 2.41-2017; these supersede the earlier V3.1 list. Installation must still follow local codes, and your local code official has final approval. In New York City, fixed gas piping requires a licensed master plumber and permits, and rules for open flame and propane on terraces and rooftops vary by building, so confirm what is allowed before you order. Which size do I need?
Match the burner to the inside dimension of your fire pit using the Warming Trends size guide, then confirm your gas supply can deliver the burner's BTU rating.
Do I need the plate option?
Only if your fire pit does not already have a plate or pan. Choose I already have a Plate to buy the burner kit alone.
Natural gas or propane?
Each burner is built for one fuel. Order the version that matches your supply.
What media can I use?
Fire-rated media made for fire features, 1/2 in. or larger, placed on the plate rather than dumped over the burner and no more than 1/2 in. above the jets. Never use gravel, pebbles or river rock.

Warming Trends full lifetime warranty on CROSSFIRE brass burners from the date of purchase, transferable with proof of ownership (Warming Trends warranty and manual V3.1). Repair or exchange is free during the warranty period; misuse, installation defects, modification and indoor use are excluded, and installation services and electronics are not covered by the burner warranty.
