American Fyre Designs Vinyl Protective Cover for Firetables, Fire Bowls and Fire Pits

The American Fyre Designs vinyl protective cover is the factory cover for AFD firetables, fire bowls, fire pits, fire urns and lanterns. It goes over the whole unit between uses and keeps rain, snowmelt, leaves and grit out of the burner pan. That matters more than it sounds: standing water and debris in the pan are what corrode a burner, foul an igniter and crack fire glass over a winter, and the burner and valve are the expensive parts of a gas fire feature.

These are cut per model rather than sold as one generic tarp, so the cover sits down on the unit instead of ballooning, and the whole range is priced between roughly $119 and $308.

Why the factory cover

• Cut to the model, not universal. Each part number is patterned for specific AFD units, so it fits flat and stays put instead of catching wind.
• Heavy multilayer PVC. Layered construction rather than a single-ply sheet, built to take a full season outdoors.
• Colorfast black. The black PVC is tested for colorfastness, so it does not chalk out to grey after one summer.
• Protects the costly parts. A cover is the cheapest insurance available for a burner, valve and igniter assembly.
• Covers the whole unit. Unlike the GFRC burner covers, which only close the burner opening, a vinyl cover wraps the entire appliance.

The Contractor's Model Fire Pit (685), 36 inch Fire Bowl (732) and 40 inch Marseille Fire Bowl (752) take the 8140A cover, which we sell as its own listing. Propane tanks take the separate 5110-13-20 nylon tank cover.

Also worth having

• GFRC cover in a matching finish, which closes the burner opening and turns the firetable into a usable table surface. The GFRC cover protects the burner; the vinyl cover protects the whole unit. Many owners keep both.
• Tempered glass wind guard, which keeps the flame tall and steady on an exposed patio.

Warranty

American Fyre Designs warrants its exterior GFRC fire features and accessories for three (3) years. All American Fyre Designs valves, burners, electrical components and controls (excluding batteries) are warranted for one (1) year. Wind guards, screens and batteries are excluded. The warranty does not cover damage caused by burning wood or any fuel other than the natural gas or propane the unit is configured for, or damage and discoloration caused by high wind conditions.
