The IronStrike Montlake 230 (ML230GL) is a Lodge Collection wood-burning fireplace insert that turns an existing masonry or listed factory-built fireplace into an efficient heater. Its cast-iron Thermal Fin heat exchanger, 2.3 cu ft firebox and air-boost timer are built for steady heat, and a large ceramic glass door with air wash keeps the fire in view. It is EPA certified to the 2020 standard and Washington State approved.

- Optional: blower kit (120 V, 0.8 A), Nickel or Brushed Nickel door trim, ZC support for factory-built fireplaces
Installation Notes
Check the existing fireplace against the minimum cavity, lintel and clearance tables before ordering, and confirm the chimney meets the height and liner rules in the IronStrike manual; a fireplace tested before 1998 needs a full-height listed liner. Do not connect it to a flue serving another appliance, and do not operate it in negative pressure. A certified hearth installer should do the work, with an inspection under local code. New York City does not permit new wood-burning fireplaces or wood-burning heaters (Local Law 38 of 2015); we sell this model for installations outside the five boroughs where local code allows it. Will it fit my fireplace?
The cavity must be at least 15-1/2 in deep, 21-1/2 in high and 22-1/2 in wide at the back, and 25 in wide at the front for masonry or 36 in for a factory-built fireplace.
Is a blower included?
No. The IronStrike manual lists the blower as an optional kit.
What do I need to order with it?
One top warming surface kit and one surround kit are required.
Can it be installed in New York City?
No. New wood-burning heaters and fireplaces are not permitted in the five boroughs.

IronStrike (Innovative Hearth Products) Limited Lifetime Warranty: product body, firebox and ceramic glass (thermal breakage only) for the lifetime of the original owner, with IHP labor rates for up to five years. Cast iron heat exchanger 5 years; refractory and screens 2 years; plating 2 years; electrical, gaskets and cast iron parts 1 year; other parts 90 days. Vent, trim and paint are excluded, and the fire must not be raised on grates or irons.
