Before Ordering — Mantel Kit Requirement
The RMI 2026–2027 catalog lists a separately purchased mantel kit as required to complete an SF-FORMAT36 installation. Choose SF-FM43-WH (43 in), SF-FM50-WH (50 in), or SF-FM60-WH (60 in) to suit the finished width; the mantel kit is not included in the base fireplace price. This is a distributor catalog requirement. Because the fireplace listing also describes use of an included wall mounting bracket, verify any mantel-free configuration against the current SimpliFire installation manual before purchase.
Included with the fireplace: clear crystal media, ShadowGlo Alpine Timber log set and multi-function remote. Listed heat output: approximately 5,000 BTU/hr at 120 V.

The SimpliFire Format (SF-FORMAT36) is a 36 in. linear electric fireplace that hangs on the wall, and with a floating mantel kit it reads as a built-in without framing a chase. There is no mesh screen or visible heat vent on the face.
Clear crystal media and the ShadowGlo Alpine Timber log set come standard, multicolored accent lighting sets the mood, and the flames run with or without heat.

What Is Included and What You Will Need
- Included: SF-FORMAT36 fireplace, remote with 2 AAA batteries, small and large clear crystal media, one-piece Alpine Timber log set, wall bracket and mounting hardware, and a hard-wire terminal block, per the Format manual
- Option above: SF-FM43-WH, SF-FM50-WH or SF-FM60-WH floating mantel kit with top, bottom, hardware and touch-up pen; the 50 and 60 in. kits add two side panels
- Required: a 15 A, 120V outlet or hard-wired circuit, and wall anchoring into framing or with the supplied toggle bolts in drywall at least 1/2 in. thick
Installation Notes
Mount the bracket with at least four screws or toggle-bolt anchors, into studs where possible; drywall must be at least 1/2 in. thick unless all four anchor points hit framing. Keep cords, drapery and furnishings at least 36 in. from the front. Electric fireplaces need no gas line, chimney or venting, which makes them a practical choice for New York City apartments and condos. Book a design consultation to plan the wall, mantel size and power.

Pick by wall width: the kits finish at 43-5/16, 50 or 59-7/8 in. wide. The fireplace and viewing area are the same 36 in. unit in every case.
Does it need to be recessed?
No. It hangs on the wall on the included bracket.

Either, on a 15 A, 120V circuit; a hard-wire terminal block is included.

SimpliFire fireplaces are covered by the Hearth & Home Technologies (HHT) limited warranty printed in the owner's manual; in the current SimpliFire manuals (form 4021-645N) electric appliances are covered for 2 years, parts and labor, and purchased replacement parts and accessories for 1 year. Coverage begins at the date of installation and requires purchase from an authorized HHT dealer. Confirm the terms in the Format manual supplied with the unit.
