The Blaze 20-inch Kamado is a kamado built from one-inch-thick solid cast aluminum instead of ceramic, so it will not crack if bumped or left out in a freeze, and it holds temperature from a low smoke to a hard sear. The non-porous body lets you use any charcoal, wood or fire starter without it soaking into the walls.
It is a strong pick for a charcoal cook who wants a kamado that lasts as long as a stainless gas grill and can sit on a cart or be built into an island.

Installation Notes
The kamado is heavy at 161 lb, so plan two people to lift it onto its cart or into an island. Built in, it needs a non-combustible surround and the clearances in the Blaze manual. Use outdoors only. On NYC terraces and rooftops, check your building rules for charcoal before you buy.

Why cast aluminum instead of ceramic?
Cast aluminum does not crack from impact or freeze-thaw cycles and does not absorb grease or lighter fluid, so it needs less babying than a ceramic kamado.
Can it be built into an island?
Yes. The Blaze kamado can be set into a non-combustible island or used on its matching cart.
How much can I cook at once?
The 20-inch grate gives 400 square inches, room for about 14 burgers.
