The Majestic Vesper 42 is a stainless steel outdoor gas fireplace with a brick-to-brick 42 in. wide by 27 in. high opening, built for covered patios, porches and outdoor rooms where you want the look of a masonry fireplace without a chimney.
Each option above pairs the VOFB42 firebox (traditional or herringbone concrete refractory) with the Majestic LUM-OD outdoor vent-free burner and a 30 in. Mezmer, Mezmer Split or Mountain Oak log set. The burner is rated up to 38,000 BTU/h and lights with a piezo standing pilot.

Installation Notes
This is an outdoor vent-free appliance listed to ANSI Z21.97 for outdoor decorative gas appliances; it must never be installed indoors, in a garage or in any enclosed area. Majestic defines outdoors as walls on all sides with no roof, a roof with no more than two side walls, or a roof with three walls and at least 30% of the perimeter permanently open. Keep 9 in. from the sides of the opening to combustible walls, 42 in. from the top of the opening to the ceiling and 36 in. clear in front. Installation should be done by a qualified gas technician. For New York City addresses, outdoor gas fireplaces and their gas piping fall under the NYC Fuel Gas Code and Department of Buildings permitting, so the approval path for this vent-free unit must be confirmed before you buy; we review that, along with Long Island, Westchester and New Jersey sites, with you. Frequently Asked Questions
Can the Vesper be used indoors?
No. It is listed only as an outdoor decorative gas appliance and must not be installed indoors, in a garage or any enclosed space.
Does it need electricity?
No. The LUM-OD burner uses a piezo-lit standing pilot with a match light backup.
What is the difference between the T and H options?
VOFB42-T has a traditional brick refractory and VOFB42-H has herringbone. Both use the same firebox and burner.
Can it go on a covered porch?
Yes, if the space meets Majestic's outdoor definition, such as a roof with no more than two walls, and the ceiling is at least 42 in. above the top of the opening.

Warranty
Per the LUM-OD burner manual, Hearth & Home Technologies provides a Limited Lifetime Warranty on the product body, metal firebox and heat exchanger from the date of installation. Gas and electrical components, gaskets, nickel-plated parts, glass, logs and refractory (thermal breakage), optional accessories and labor for warranty work are covered for one year. Coverage requires purchase from an authorized dealer and is valid only while the product stays at its original installation site.
