Description
The Superior VRE6036 is a 36-inch outdoor vent-free gas firebox in the VRE6000 series with a 30-inch tall opening, built for covered patios and outdoor rooms where no chimney or vent is wanted. It is lined with Mosaic Masonry firebrick, chosen in the options in Ivory, Midnight, Slate Grey or Warm Red, full or split, stacked or herringbone.
The firebox is the shell: a certified vent-free gas log set approved to ANSI Z21.97, up to 40,000 BTU, is required and sold separately, and the IHP hood and supplied wire-mesh screen must be used. It is a gas firebox only and not for wood fires.

What Is Included and What You Will Need
- Included: VRE6036 firebox with stainless wire-mesh screen, plus the Mosaic Masonry firebrick liner selected in the options
- Required: a certified vent-free gas log set to ANSI Z21.97 rated 40,000 BTU or less, with its burner and controls, sold separately
- Required: the IHP hood when a vent-free log heater is used, and a gas supply sized for the log set
Installation Notes
Install by a qualified gas fitter to the current Superior installation manual and the log set instructions. Keep the mantel and ceiling clearances in the spec sheet and never burn wood in this firebox.
In New York City outdoor gas appliances need a licensed master plumber and permit, and the FDNY restricts propane on terraces and rooftops. Book an outdoor fireplace design consultation to plan the location and log set.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are gas logs included?
No. A certified vent-free log set up to 40,000 BTU is required and sold separately.
Can I burn wood?
No. It is a gas firebox only.
Is a screen included?
Yes. The stainless wire-mesh screen is supplied and must be used at all times.

Warranty
Innovative Hearth Products 20 Year Limited Warranty (installation manual): the fireplace body, firebox, barrier and ceramic glass are covered for 20 years from the date of installation. The burner, gas components and gaskets are covered for one year, optional blowers and remote controls for one year, tempered glass for one year and optional glass doors for 90 days; parts not otherwise listed carry a 90 day warranty. Labor is paid at prevailing IHP rates for each component's warranty period. Vent components, trim and paint are excluded. Refer to the manual for full terms.
