The Hestan GVP42 is a 42-inch Pro Canopy outdoor vent hood rated at 900 CFM, which Hestan sizes for 30-inch grills. Instead of baffle filters it uses Hestan's CircuFlow centrifugal blower, which spins grease out of the airstream into a removable, dishwasher-safe housing so it does not build up in your ductwork. It is outdoor rated, finished to match Hestan grills, and offered in all twelve Hestan colors, so it suits covered patios and loggias where smoke needs to go somewhere specific.

Installation Notes
Hestan rates this hood for non-combustible locations only. It must not be mounted on or next to unprotected combustible construction, and every material in the wall behind it and within the 24-inch side zone must be non-combustible; stucco or tile over wood framing does not qualify, while metal studs with cement board and a stone or stucco finish do. The hood also needs a protective roof above it to keep water out, and it should run whenever the grill is on. Mount the bottom edge 30 inches above the cooking surface, follow your grill's own clearances, and use foil HVAC tape on duct joints. In New York City, exterior wall or roof penetrations and the electrical circuit generally need licensed trades and may need building approval. What size grill is the GVP42 for?
Hestan recommends the GVP42 for 30-inch grills. For a 36-inch grill Hestan pairs the 48-inch GVP48, and for a 42-inch grill the 54-inch GVP54.
Can it hang on a wood-framed wall with stone veneer?
No. Hestan treats wood framing behind a non-combustible finish as combustible. The wall behind the hood and the 24-inch zone on each side must be fully non-combustible construction, such as metal studs with cement board.
Does it need a roof over it?
Yes. Hestan requires a protective roof over the hood to prevent water intrusion, which is why it is typically installed on covered patios, loggias and pavilions.
What duct size do I need?
Hestan lists a 10-inch round duct for the 900 CFM blower package when using the optional AKVT6810 transition; 6-inch and 8-inch round ducts can also connect directly to the top of the hood. Every run must end in a wall louver or roof cap.

Warranty
Per the Hestan outdoor vent hood Installation, Use and Care manual, Hestan Commercial Corporation warrants Hestan Outdoor Cooking products against defective materials or workmanship for two (2) years from delivery to the original purchaser (or closing date for new construction, whichever is later) and will repair or replace any failed part or component at its option during that period. The warranty applies to products bought from an authorized Hestan dealer in the 50 United States, the District of Columbia and Canada, covers non-commercial use only, and is not transferable. Service is arranged through the selling dealer or Hestan at 888.905.7463.
