The Summerset IM-15 (SSIM-15) is a 15 in. outdoor rated cube ice maker that makes up to 50 lb of ice a day and holds 25 lb in its insulated bin. It slides into an outdoor kitchen island next to the grill or bar so you are not running inside for ice.

It is a gravity drain unit, so it needs a water line and a drain line within reach, plus a standard 115V outlet. Front venting allows a flush built-in installation, and the stainless steel door and handle match the rest of an AMD Direct outdoor kitchen.

Installation Notes

Plan the water supply, drain and outlet before the island is finished. AMD requires the drain to be connected before use, with horizontal drain runs falling at least 1/4 in. per foot and the hose never looping above the bin floor; an air gap is usually needed at the receptacle, and a condensate pump is recommended where no drain is available. Keep the front vent clear. In New York City, adding an outdoor outlet, water line or drain on a terrace or rooftop is work for licensed trades and often needs building or board approval. Yes. It is a gravity drain unit, so the drain line must be connected before use. If there is no floor drain or standpipe nearby, AMD recommends a condensate pump.

Is it a freezer?

No. AMD notes the ice maker is not a freezer, so stored ice slowly melts and drains away as fresh ice is made.

AMD Direct refrigeration warranty for 15 in. and 24 in. models, per the AMD Direct warranty printed in the owner's manual: 3 years on all construction, including the compressor, and 1 year on the transformer, LED bulbs, LED harness, power source wire, LED switches and interior light wire and bulbs. Coverage is for the original purchaser at the original delivery site, requires online registration within 30 days of purchase, covers replacement parts only (no labor), and does not apply to commercial, rental or nonresidential installations or to discoloration, surface rust or corrosion.
