The Outdoor GreatRoom Crystal Fire Plus linear burner insert and plate kit is the gas heart of a custom fire pit, fire table or outdoor kitchen fire feature. A stainless steel Crystal Fire Plus burner and mounting plate sit under your fire glass, with a no-flange edge and undermount install that hides the hardware.

Pick your length from 24 to 120 inches and your ignition: a manual valve you can set up for propane or natural gas, or direct spark electronic ignition built for one fuel. It is a builder's component, not a finished fire pit, and a licensed gas installer should set it.

What Is Included and What You Will Need

  • Manual kits: Variable Control Safety Valve, metal flex hose, control panel, natural gas conversion kit, clear fire glass gems and an LP hose and regulator on smaller sizes (per OGR; not on the 64 inch and longer kits)
  • Electronic kits: direct spark ignition system, metal flex hose, clear fire glass gems and an LP hose and regulator on smaller sizes
  • 72 inch and longer kits include two control panels and two valves
  • Required: a fire pit or fire table enclosure you build, ventilation openings, a gas supply (hard piped for larger sizes), and a licensed gas installer
  • Optional: Superior platinum crushed glass media, diamond crystal large glass media and a Crystal Fire Plus control panel

Installation Notes

This is an outdoor-only appliance that you build into a noncombustible enclosure. Follow the OGR manual for clearances, ventilation openings and the minimum outdoor enclosure rules: four walls with no overhead cover, a cover with two side walls, or a cover with three side walls where 30 percent of the side wall area is permanently open. Gas work should be done by a certified gas technician. In New York City, gas work must be done by a licensed master plumber under a DOB permit, and propane tank storage carries FDNY rules, so confirm your fuel with us before you order. Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a finished fire pit?

No. It is the burner and plate for a custom fire pit, fire table or outdoor kitchen feature that you or your builder construct around it.

Manual or electronic ignition?

The manual kit uses a safety valve with adjustable flame height and can be set for propane or natural gas. The electronic kit lights automatically, is built for one fuel and cannot be converted in the field.

Can it be used indoors?

No. Crystal Fire Plus burners are listed as decorative gas-fired outdoor fireplace products and must be installed outdoors.

How much heat does it make?

It depends on length. The OGR manual lists about 25,000 to 55,000 BTU/hr for the 24 inch burner, up to 200,000 BTU/hr for the 120 inch burner.

Warranty

Per the Outdoor GreatRoom warranty as published on the current listing and dealer pages: residential limited lifetime (10 years) on the stainless steel burner and 3 years on ignition and electronic components; commercial use is 5 years on the burner and 1 year on ignition and electronics. The burner manual states one year on ignition and electronics, so confirm the written terms. Warranty is void for improper installation or unapproved components.
