The Lynx Professional L30ATR is a 30-inch built-in grill with two Trident infrared burners, so the entire 600 square inch grate cooks with infrared heat. Each Trident burner adjusts from a hard sear to gentler low-temperature cooking, and a dual-position rotisserie with its own rear infrared burner handles slow roasts. It is the Lynx for a buyer who wants infrared steakhouse searing across the whole grill in a compact island footprint, available for natural gas or propane.

Installation Notes

The L30ATR drops into a non-combustible island; a combustible enclosure needs the LIJ30 insulated jacket, supported by a ledge on each side or a full deck. Lynx calls for 12 in. of clearance from the sides and 6-1/4 in. from the back to combustible construction above the countertop, and room behind the grill for the hood to open. Do not install under unprotected overhead combustible construction; under a covered roof the cooking area needs an exhaust hood. Inlet pressure is 7 in. w.c. maximum and 4 in. w.c. minimum on natural gas, 14 in. maximum and 11 in. minimum on propane. In New York City, rooftop and terrace gas grills are regulated by the FDNY and the Department of Buildings, gas piping must be run by a licensed master plumber, and propane cylinder use is heavily restricted. Frequently Asked Questions

Is an all-infrared grill only for searing?

No. Lynx designs the Trident burner to turn down for lower-temperature cooking as well as searing, so you can cook fish and vegetables on the same grate you sear steaks on.

How is the L30ATR different from the L30TR?

The L30ATR uses two Trident infrared burners (46,000 BTU). The L30TR pairs one Trident with one ceramic burner under briquettes (48,000 BTU) for a mixed searing and radiant zone.

Can it go into a wood-framed island?

Yes, with the Lynx LIJ30 insulated jacket. Lynx requires the jacket for any combustible enclosure.

Does it need electricity?

Yes. Hot Surface Ignition, the lights and the rotisserie motor run from an outdoor 120V/15A GFCI outlet next to the grill.

Current Lynx Professional warranty (lynxgrills.com): one-year full warranty on the complete product, including parts and authorized labor pre-approved by Lynx; 90-day cosmetic warranty through the selling dealer; five-year limited warranty, parts only after year one, on the rotisserie infrared burner, firebox, drip tray, manifolds, gas valves, rotisserie motor, ignitor, warming racks and spit rods; lifetime limited warranty, parts only for the original purchaser, on the Trident burners and stainless components such as the grates, canopy, hood, control panel and bullnose against rust-through that affects structural integrity. Multi-user settings such as clubs and condominium common areas get a 90-day Residential Plus warranty; restaurants and other commercial use are excluded.
