Description

The Majestic ID6 is 6 in. (152 mm) insulated flexible duct that carries outside combustion air to the fireplace outside air kit. It comes as two 42 in. (1065 mm) sections. Majestic lists ID4/ID6 insulated duct in the chimney components of the Biltmore, Sovereign and Cottagewood manuals, and the Biltmore manual notes the outside air flex is required and sold separately.

What Is Included and What You Will Need

  • Included: (1) Majestic ID6, two 42 in. sections
  • Required: the fireplace outside air kit and air inlet hood (the Biltmore manual lists the hood as included with the fireplace)
  • Required: a fireplace that lists ID6, such as the Biltmore 36, Sovereign SA36 and Cottagewood 36

Installation Notes

Route the duct per the outside air kit section of your manual; keep the inlet away from exhaust and prevailing winds as directed. Have a qualified technician install it per the kit instructions and fireplace manual. NYC does not allow new wood-burning fireplaces (Local Law 38 of 2015), so these parts are for installs outside the five boroughs.

Use the duct diameter your fireplace manual lists for its outside air kit. The Biltmore lists ID4/ID6 in the US and ID4 in Canada.

Is outside air required?

The Biltmore manual says an outside air kit must be used for combustion; check your model manual.
