Description
Description
Fits: Majestic Castlewood 42 outdoor wood-burning fireplace (ODCASTLEWD-42); viewing area 41-7/8 x 38 in. (Majestic specifications)
The Majestic WDRAV-42T is the Antler Velvet molded refractory set in the traditional stacked brick pattern for the Castlewood 42 outdoor wood-burning fireplace. It lines the hearth, back and sides of the firebox in a pale, warm brick tone.
The Castlewood installation manual says the molded brick panels ship separately but are required to contain heat, so every Castlewood needs a refractory set. Majestic's Castlewood parts list offers traditional and herringbone sets in Natural Gray, Antler Velvet, Black Onyx and Masonry Brown.
Features
- Antler Velvet molded refractory, traditional stacked pattern
- Required to complete the Castlewood 42 firebox (Castlewood manual)
- Lines the hearth, back and side walls
- Molded panels made for the Castlewood firebox
- Mortar is optional and can be used to enhance the joints

What Is Included and What You Will Need
- Included: Antler Velvet molded refractory panels for the Castlewood 42, per current listing
- Required: a Majestic Castlewood 42 outdoor wood-burning fireplace
- Alternative pattern: Antler Velvet herringbone refractory (WDRAV-42H)
- Optional: ODGF42BZ-B bronze outdoor glass bi-fold door
Installation Notes
Install the hearth panel first, then the back and side panels with the refractory retainers, following section 7 of the Castlewood installation manual; the hearth may need shimming level. Molded panels wear with use and will need occasional replacement; small hairline cracks and discoloration are normal and do not affect safety. New York City does not permit new wood-burning fireplaces under Local Law 38 of 2015, so we sell Majestic wood-burning fireplaces and their wood-burning accessories for installations outside the five boroughs where local code allows them. Book a design consultation to plan the outdoor fireplace, refractory and finish.

Warranty
Outdoor Lifestyles (Hearth & Home Technologies) limited warranty, as printed in the Castlewood installation manual (2108-975C): optional accessories, logs, refractory and glass panels (for thermal breakage) are covered for one year from the date of installation; surface hairline cracks, scratches and slight color changes are not covered, and firebricks and grates are treated as normal wear parts.
