Description
Description
Important: Required Log Set, Grate & Liner Selection
42-inch Courtyard models require one separately selected approved log set (HDLOGS-ODCOUG or SDLOGS-ODCOUG) and the separate stainless-steel grate (GR-ODCOUG). The ODCOUG-42NR base model additionally requires a liner panel kit; ODCOUG-42TS includes traditional stacked concrete refractory. The base fireplace price alone is not a complete firing configuration.
What comes standard: the outdoor fireplace firebox and wall-switch/control assembly; the complete log-and-grate firing package and any required refractory are separately configured. The catalog lists these as required components, not optional decorations. Confirm the exact gas fuel and any factory conversion kit, outdoor ventilation requirements, and included parts for the chosen configuration before purchasing.

The Majestic Courtyard 42 is an outdoor vent-free gas fireplace with a traditional log-fire look, built for covered patios, porches and outdoor rooms where you want a wall-mounted fire without a chimney. It runs on an IntelliFire ignition system from a wall switch, with a stainless steel firebox, and you choose the interior liner and log set that suit your space.

Installation Notes
This is an outdoor vent-free appliance listed to ANSI Z21.97 for outdoor decorative gas appliances. It must never be installed indoors, in a garage or in any enclosed area. Majestic defines an outdoor space as walls with no roof, a roof with no more than two side walls, or a roof with three walls and at least 30% of the perimeter permanently open. Use an unswitched GFCI-protected circuit, keep 3 ft clear in front of the unit and use a qualified gas installer. For New York City addresses, outdoor gas fireplaces and their gas piping fall under the NYC Fuel Gas Code and Department of Buildings permitting, so the approval path for this vent-free unit must be confirmed before you buy. We review that, along with Long Island, Westchester and New Jersey sites, during a design consultation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can the Courtyard 42 go on a NYC rooftop or terrace?
It is certified for outdoor use only, and any NYC installation of an outdoor gas fireplace must clear the NYC Fuel Gas Code and Department of Buildings process, plus building approval on a rooftop. Confirm the path with us before ordering.
Does it need a hearth?
No. Majestic states the appliance does not require a hearth extension. Combustible flooring next to the front needs 6 in. minimum per the spec sheet.
Are the liner and logs included?
They are selected in the options above. Pick a refractory liner and either the standard or high definition log set with grate and lava rock to complete the fireplace.
