The Majestic Lanai 48 See-Through (ODLANAIGST-48) is an outdoor vent-free linear gas fireplace that is open on both faces, so a single 48-inch ribbon of flame serves two outdoor rooms at once: a covered dining area and a pool deck, or a lounge and an outdoor kitchen. The stainless steel interior reflects the flame and the colored crushed glass bed, multicolor LED strips keep it glowing after dark, and there is no chimney or vent to build.

Installation Notes
This is an outdoor vent-free appliance listed to ANSI Z21.97 for outdoor decorative gas appliances; it must never be installed indoors, in a garage or in any enclosed area. Majestic defines an outdoor space as no more enclosed than walls with no roof, a roof with no more than two side walls, or a roof with three walls and at least 30% of the perimeter permanently open. Keep at least 39 in. to the ceiling and 36 in. to any combustible object above, flash the perimeter with metal flashing and high-temperature sealant, and plan drainage under the unit (a drain pan is available). Power must come from an unswitched, GFCI-protected circuit with the junction box on the right side of the unit. Installation should be done by a qualified, factory-trained or NFI-certified gas technician. For New York City addresses, outdoor gas fireplaces and their gas piping fall under the NYC Fuel Gas Code and Department of Buildings permitting, so the approval path for this vent-free unit must be confirmed before you buy. We review that, along with Long Island, Westchester and New Jersey sites, during a design consultation.

Can the Lanai 48 be installed in New York City?
It is certified for outdoor use only, and any NYC installation of an outdoor gas fireplace must clear the NYC Fuel Gas Code and Department of Buildings process. Confirm the approval path for your property with us and a licensed master plumber before ordering.
Is the glass media included?
The fireplace needs crushed glass to operate. Crystal is the standard choice in the options above; Scarlet, Ebony, Cobalt and Amber are upgrades.
Can I install it under a covered patio?
Yes, if the space still meets Majestic's outdoor definition: a roof with no more than two side walls, or three walls with at least 30% of the perimeter permanently open, and at least 39 in. from the top of the firebox opening to the ceiling.
Does it need a dedicated electrical circuit?
It needs an unswitched 110 to 120 VAC circuit protected by a GFCI breaker; the unit draws less than 12 amps for the ignition and LED lights.

Warranty
Per the Lanai owner's manual, Outdoor Lifestyles by Hearth & Home Technologies provides a Limited Lifetime Warranty on the product body, metal firebox and heat exchanger from the date of installation. Gas and electrical components, gaskets, glass and media (thermal breakage), optional accessories and labor for warranty service are covered for one year from installation. Coverage requires purchase through an authorized HHT dealer and applies at the original installation site.
