The Majestic Mercury 32 (MERC32IN) is a compact, traditional direct vent gas fireplace with a 27-3/16 in. by 18-1/16 in. glass view and a shallow 16-5/16 in. depth. It suits bedrooms, dens and condos where a full-size firebox will not fit but a real log fire look is still the goal.

It is rated at 19,100 BTU/h, uses IntelliFire ignition and a LOGS-MERC32 log set, and vents with Hearth & Home Technologies DVP or SLP pipe, including SLP flex.

Installation Notes

Frame the Mercury 32 at 37 in. wide, 34-3/4 in. high and 16-1/4 in. deep, keep 30 in. from the top of the opening to the ceiling, and follow the mantel and wall projection charts. It vents only with Hearth & Home Technologies DVP or SLP pipe and needs unswitched 110-120 VAC. HHT recommends NFI certified installers. In New York City, direct vent gas fireplaces are installed under the NYC Fuel Gas Code by a licensed master plumber, with DOB filing where required, and the vent termination location usually decides feasibility. Book a design consultation to plan the layout, utilities and installation.

This listing is the MERC32IN natural gas configuration. The manual also lists a propane rating of 19,100 BTU/h; ask us before ordering for propane.

How deep is it?

16-5/16 in. actual, framed at 16-1/4 in., which makes it one of the shallower traditional Majestic fireplaces.

What venting does it use?

Hearth & Home Technologies Limited Lifetime Warranty, per the Majestic owner's manual: the firebox and heat exchanger are covered for the limited lifetime term (HHT defines lifetime as 20 years for gas appliances) with 3 years labor; burners, logs and refractory 10 years with 1 year labor; electrical components such as modules, remotes, wall switches, valves, pilots, blowers and junction boxes 2 years; igniters, electronic components and glass, and all other parts 1 year. Coverage begins at installation, applies while the fireplace stays at its original site, and requires purchase through an authorized HHT dealer.
