Installation Notes
The Villawood needs a listed chimney system, a hearth extension and moisture protection where it sits in a structure wall or on a moisture-sensitive surface. Frame it at 42 in. wide, 39-3/4 in. high and 21-1/2 in. deep, keep a 2 in. air space where the surface is inside the building's warm air envelope, and follow the chimney requirements in the manual. Burn only solid wood and use only HHT glass door kits. New York City does not permit new wood-burning fireplaces under Local Law 38 of 2015, so we sell Majestic wood-burning fireplaces for installations outside the five boroughs where local code allows them. Not in the base option. Choose Bi-Fold Glass Doors above to add the ODVGF-36 stainless door.
Does it need a chimney?
Yes. A chimney system and a hearth extension are required and sold separately.
