The Divine Pier 38 Contemporary (HL38PF) is a multi-sided direct vent gas fireplace with three glass sides as a peninsula: two long sides and one end. It is designed for a peninsula wall that divides two spaces, such as a living room and dining area, and its linear burner and Ice fireglass give it a clean, modern flame bed. At 34,000 BTU/h with a sealed firebox, it delivers real heat as well as a panoramic view of the fire, and the surround finishes in stone or tile.

What Is Included and What You Will Need

  • Included: Divine Pier firebox, contemporary linear burner with Ice fireglass, multi-function remote, micro mesh screens, battery backup and the supplied standoffs
  • Required: 5 in. / 8 in. direct vent pipe and a wall or roof termination, either Montigo vent or an approved alternate listed in the manual (DuraVent DirectVent Pro connects through adapter 58DVA-AD-M1). We carry 58DVA-HC horizontal and 58DVA-VCH vertical caps, 58DVA-36 pipe and 58DVA-E90 elbows
  • Required: a gas supply line (flexible connector no longer than 3 ft) and a 115V, 60 Hz circuit
  • Required: framing, facing and any mantel built to the clearances in the manual
  • Optional: EC1550 wall remote, SIT-WiFi app control, alternate glass media colors

Installation Notes

Frame to 41 in. x 44 in. x 23-3/4 in. (W x H x D) and install the two supplied standoffs on top of the unit to keep 8 in. of clearance and avoid elevated mantel temperatures. A combustible shelf must sit at least 11 in. above the unit with rear venting, 17-1/2 in. with top venting; combustible side surrounds need 3 in. Venting can terminate up to 32 ft above the fireplace, with horizontal limits set by the vent graphs in the manual. Multi-sided units need every glass face planned into the finished wall, so we review the surround drawing before ordering. Installation must be done by a qualified, licensed gas installer. In New York City, direct vent fireplaces fall under the NYC Fuel Gas Code, with a licensed master plumber and DOB filing where required; the termination location usually decides feasibility in apartments and townhouses. We confirm venting and permitting during a fireplace design consultation.

Is the Divine Pier 38 a heater or decorative?

It is listed to ANSI Z21.88 as a vented gas fireplace heater, rated 34,000 BTU/h on natural gas and 32,000 BTU/h on propane, so it adds meaningful heat to the room.

Will it work during a power outage?

Yes. The Proflame 2 ignition has battery backup, so the fireplace can be lit and run from the remote without household power.

Can I get logs instead of glass?

Logs come with the traditional version, a separate model with its own burner (H38PF). Choose the style at purchase.

Warranty

Montigo Residential Warranty Program (per the manual): firebox, heat exchanger and main burner 15 years, with 1 year of labor; gas controls, electrical components, remotes, media, glass, finishes and safety barriers 1 year, parts and labor. Transferable while the fireplace stays in its original installation; requires installation by a licensed professional and annual service by an authorized Montigo dealer. Montigo's terms also require the fireplace to be purchased and installed through an authorized Montigo dealer.
