The Napoleon Altitude 42 (A42) is a traditional direct vent gas fireplace with a clean face, a full-width firebox and an included Night Light. It is for homeowners who want a wider classic fireplace with a split oak log set, a choice of interior panels and optional fronts and trims, and the option to add heat management so a TV or art can sit above it.

Napoleon specifies combustible mantel clearances by mantel height and depth, and these can be reduced only with the optional Universal Heat Management System. Keep objects at least 4 ft in front of the appliance.

Installation Notes

This is a direct vent appliance. The manual allows a maximum horizontal run of 20 ft and a maximum vertical vent length of 40 ft with approved Wolf Steel components, and rigid and flexible venting must not be combined. Follow the manual for clearances and finishing, and use a licensed installer. In New York City, installation must also meet NYC code. Book a design consultation to plan venting and layout.

Napoleon Gas Appliance President's Lifetime Limited Warranty: the combustion chamber, heat exchanger, stainless steel burner, logs and embers, rocks and ceramic glass (thermal breakage) are covered for as long as you own the appliance. Electrical components and wearable parts, and related labor, are covered for the first year.
