The Napoleon Element 36 (NEFB36H-BS-2) is a self-trimming 36 in. built-in electric fireplace with a traditional oak log set and brick-look side panels. It plugs into a 120V outlet or can be hardwired at 240V, where it doubles its heater output to 3,000 W.
It is built for a new framed wall or an existing fireplace opening and finishes its own edge, with an optional black trim kit when you need to cover a larger opening. Flames, ember bed and the top light run with or without heat.

Installation Notes
Frame a 35-1/2 x 31-1/4 in. opening, 11 in. deep, keep 2 in. from the glass to a mantel or ceiling, and route power to the right side of the recess before setting the unit; two people should lift it. The appliance ships wired for 120V; 240V requires hardwiring. Keep combustibles 36 in. from the front. Electric fireplaces need no gas line or venting, which makes them one of the simplest fireplace options for New York City apartments and co-ops, subject to building and board approval for any electrical work. Book a design consultation to plan the wall, power and finish.

Hardwired at 240V the heater runs at 3,000 W instead of 1,500 W, so it can heat a larger room.
Can it go into my existing fireplace?
Yes, if the opening meets the 35-1/2 x 31-1/4 x 11 in. framing size; the trim kit can cover a larger face.
