The Napoleon Entice 42 (NEFL42CFH-1) is a 42 in. linear electric fireplace that hangs on the wall, partially recesses or fully recesses into a framed wall. At 5-7/16 in. deep it gives a long, nearly frameless flame picture with real supplemental heat and no venting.
Ten flame colors and ten ember bed colors with a cycle mode, a reflective rear panel and crystal media come standard; Napoleon birch or driftwood log kits and glass ember kits are optional. It plugs into a 120V outlet or can be hardwired.

What Is Included and What You Will Need
- Included: NEFL42CFH-1 fireplace, remote, crystal media, wall bracket, side cover panels, framing brackets, cord covers and hardware, per the Napoleon manual
- Optional: NEF-BLRAK42 birch or NEF-DRAK42 driftwood log set with rocks, and MKG series glass ember kits (variants above)
- Required: a dedicated 120V 15 A grounded outlet, or hardwiring by an electrician
- Required for recessed installs: a non-load-bearing framed opening, 4 in. deep minimum for partial recess and 6 in. for full recess including finish
Installation Notes
For wall mounting, fasten the bracket into studs with the supplied screws. For a recessed install, frame the opening to the manual, 4 in. deep for partial recess or 6 in. deep for full recess, and keep 4 in. from the trim to any mantel or ceiling. Keep furniture and curtains 36 in. from the front. Electric fireplaces need no gas line or venting, which makes them one of the simplest fireplace options for New York City apartments and co-ops, subject to building and board approval for any electrical work. Book a design consultation to plan the wall, power and finish.

Can I hang it and plug it in?
Yes. It hangs on the included bracket and plugs into a regular 120V outlet; recessing and hardwiring are optional.
How deep a wall do I need to fully recess it?
Napoleon calls for a 6 in. deep opening, including finishing materials, for a full recess.
How much heat does it give?
Up to 5,000 BTU at 1,465 W, supplemental heat for a room of up to about 400 sq. ft. per Napoleon.
Can I put a TV above it?
Keep at least 4 in. from the trim to anything above and follow the TV maker's heat guidance.

Napoleon Electric Appliance Premium Warranty, per the Entice manual W415-4155: Napoleon provides replacement electrical components and wearable parts (fan/heaters, motors, switches, nylon bearing components, remote controls and LED lights) free of charge for the first 2 years, and covers labor for warranty repair in the first year only. Light bulbs and fuses are excluded. Coverage is for the original purchaser, requires purchase through an authorized Napoleon dealer and is not transferable.
