The Napoleon Knightsbridge GDS60 is the largest stove in Napoleon's cast iron series, a sealed direct vent gas stove that heats a larger room without drawing air from the house. It vents through the top or the rear with 4 inch / 7 inch pipe, so it can sit against a wall or tie into a chase, and it is a good fit for homes where a freestanding stove is the practical alternative to building a fireplace.

What Is Included and What You Will Need
- Included per the current listing: stove with log set and burner assembly, standard safety screen, firestop and a 12 inch stainless steel gas flex connector with shut-off.
- Required and sold separately: a Napoleon direct vent terminal kit. The manual lists wall terminal kits GD-222, GD-222R, ST47U and GD-175, roof kits GD-110, GD-111 and GD-112, a periscope kit GD-201 and flex vent kits GD-220 and GD-330. The right kit depends on whether you exit through a wall or the roof.
- Required for a rear exit: the rear-vent trivet GS831K, offered as a selectable option on this listing.
- Also needed: a gas line sized for the stove and a 115 V supply or battery power as the manual describes.
- Optional: blower kit, remote controls, brick panels, leg-leveling kit and a natural gas to propane conversion kit.
Installation Notes
The manual requires furniture and other objects to stay at least 48 inches from the front of the stove, a safety barrier in front of the glass, and a rating of 0 to 4,500 ft before an altitude derate applies. Gas and venting work must be done by a licensed gas technician. In New York City, a direct vent gas stove must meet the NYC Fuel Gas Code and needs a permitted installation. What is the BTU input of the Knightsbridge GDS60?
The manual lists a maximum input of 35,000 BTU/h on natural gas and 31,500 BTU/h on propane with a top vent. A rear exit with no vertical run must be reduced to 21,000 BTU/h by changing the supplied orifice.
Can I vent it out the back?
Yes. The stove vents through the top or the rear. A rear exit needs the GS831K trivet, which you can select on this listing, and the lower rear-vent input applies when there is no vertical run.
Does it work in a power outage?
The SAFE GUARD gas control has battery back-up, and the battery housing takes 4 AA batteries that are not supplied.
Is a vent kit included?
No. A Napoleon direct vent terminal kit is sold separately, and the right one depends on whether you terminate through a wall or the roof.
