The Napoleon Oakville X3 is a direct vent gas insert that slides into an existing masonry or factory-built wood fireplace and turns it into a sealed, thermostat-controlled gas heater. It suits a brownstone, colonial or ranch with a working chimney that is cold and drafty, and the blower, eFIRE Bluetooth controller and ProFlame II remote come with it, so the heater is ready to run once the liners and trim are chosen.

What Is Included and What You Will Need
- Included per the current listing: insert with ceramic glass, blower kit, eFIRE Bluetooth controller, ProFlame II remote, split oak logs, stainless steel flex connector, and the decorative panels, log set, faceplate and backerplate you select.
- Required and sold separately: a direct vent liner kit for the chimney, a gas line sized for the insert, a 115 V supply, and the safety barrier the manual requires in front of the glass.
- Optional: propane conversion kit, Old Town Red brick panels, other faceplate finishes, black cast iron surround and a riser box. Ask us to quote these.
Installation Notes
An insert needs a sound chimney and a correctly sized liner kit. Gas and venting work must be done by a licensed gas technician, and a chimney inspection is part of the process. Keep furniture and other objects at least 48 inches from the front. In New York City, a gas insert must meet the NYC Fuel Gas Code and needs a permitted installation. Book a consultation and we will measure the opening and confirm the liner kit before you order.

Will the Oakville X3 fit my fireplace?
The spec sheet lists a minimum opening of 29 inches wide, 21-1/2 inches high and 14-3/8 inches deep, plus 4 inches of depth for the blower, and a 6 inch round flue. It must go into a vented non-combustible wood-burning fireplace.
Is the blower included?
Yes. The blower kit, eFIRE Bluetooth controller and ProFlame II remote are included in this listing.
How long can the vent liners be?
The installation manual calls for two 3 inch liners with a 10 ft minimum and a 45 ft maximum length.
Does it work in a power outage?
Napoleon lists battery back-up control, so the fire can run when the power is out.

Warranty
Napoleon lists the President's Limited Lifetime Warranty for the Oakville X3 combustion chamber. The owner's manual adds that coverage begins on the date of original installation and that electrical components and wearable parts are covered during the first year. Installation by a licensed gas technician is required to keep coverage in force. Confirm full terms in the owner's manual.
