The XO XOUIM1565S is a 15 in. undercounter gourmet ice maker rated for indoor or outdoor use. It makes up to 65 lb of crystal clear, rectangular bell-shaped cubes a day, designed to melt slowly, and holds up to 27 lb on hand, pausing production automatically when the bin is full.

Front venting and a zero-clearance, field-reversible door let it sit flush in an outdoor kitchen or bar. This gravity drain model needs a drain lower than its connection, with 5/8 in. ID tubing pitched down 1/4 in. per foot; if the drain is higher, choose the pump model or add XO's XOUIMPUMP.

What Is Included and What You Will Need

• Required: a cold water line, a dedicated 15 A, 115V grounded outlet, 5/8 in. ID drain hose and a drain lower than the unit, with an air gap and sanitary trap

Installation Notes

Plan the water line, drain and outlet before the cabinetry is built, and use a dedicated 15 A circuit without an extension cord. A gravity drain must fall 1/4 in. per foot to a lower drain with an air gap and sanitary trap. XO rates it for 50 to 90 F use and says to keep it out of direct sun, rain and splashing; winterize it when nights approach 40 F, since freezing can damage the unit. In New York City, adding an outdoor outlet, water line or drain on a terrace or rooftop is work for licensed trades and often needs building or board approval.
