Description

Overall Dimensions: 67-1/4" W x 25" D x 36-1/4" H

This is the simplest way to get a real built-in grill on a patio: a 5-foot Challenger Designs Coastal island in powder-coated aluminum that arrives fully assembled with its countertop, paired with your choice of Blaze 32-inch gas grill. There is no masonry, no framing and no countertop template, and aluminum cabinetry will not rust the way painted steel can. It suits townhouse patios, terraces and second homes where you want a finished outdoor kitchen without a construction project.

What Is Included and What You Will Need

  • Included: assembled 67.25" Coastal island with countertop in your finish package, toe kick if selected, and the Blaze 32" grill head you choose in your fuel
  • Propane: one 20 lb LP cylinder (not included), stored in the grill base
  • Natural gas: a gas line with shutoff sized for the grill (56,000 BTU BCM, 66,000 BTU LTE+); the installer creates plumbing access in the cabinet
  • LTE+ models: a 120V GFCI-protected outdoor outlet for the lighting transformer
  • Optional: Blaze rotisserie kit BLZ-34-ROTIS-SS for the LTE+ rear burner

Installation Notes

The island sits on a firm, level patio surface; no footing or masonry is required. Keep the grill 18" from combustible construction at the sides and rear, and do not place it under combustible overhead construction (see the Blaze manual for non-combustible overhead and vent hood requirements). Propane models are ready to use with a 20 lb tank in the grill base. Natural gas models need a dedicated line run by a licensed plumber; in New York City that is a licensed master plumber under permit, and propane cylinders are tightly restricted at NYC residential buildings, so choose natural gas for most city addresses. Because the cabinet ships assembled, confirm gate and doorway widths for a 67" unit before delivery. For help with layout, gas and delivery logistics, book a consultation with our outdoor kitchen team.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it really arrive assembled?

Yes. The Coastal island ships fully assembled with the countertop on, ready for the grill to be set into the cutout and connected to gas.

BCM or LTE+?

Both use four 14,000 BTU burners. The LTE+ adds a 10,000 BTU rear infrared burner for rotisserie cooking plus grill lighting, and the Marine Grade LTE+ is 316L stainless for waterfront homes. The BCM is the simpler, lower-cost grill.

Can I use natural gas?

Yes. Choose a natural gas grill and have a licensed plumber bring the line into the grill base; the installer creates the access opening.

Will other 32" grills fit?

The island accepts most 32" and smaller grills with a cutout up to 30-3/4" W x 22-1/2" D x 13-1/4" H. This package is sold with the Blaze grills listed above.

Warranty

Challenger Designs warrants the cabinet against defects in materials and workmanship for as long as the original purchaser owns it. Blaze covers the grill under its limited lifetime warranty on stainless components and burners, with one year on ignition, lighting and electrical components; the grill must be registered with Blaze within 30 days of purchase, and labor is not covered.
