Description

The Majestic Lumonessen LUM-OD-NM is the natural gas outdoor burner with manual (piezo standing pilot) ignition. It is the required burner for the Majestic Vesper 36 and 42 outdoor vent-free fireplaces, and its manual approves it for outdoor installation in a solid-fuel masonry or UL127 factory-built fireplace or a listed ventless firebox enclosure. Ceramic fiber logs are sold separately.

What Is Included and What You Will Need

  • Included per the manual: unvented gas log burner assembly, two bags of crushed volcanic rock, instructions and two anchoring screws
  • Required: ceramic fiber log set (sold separately); Vesper uses a 30 in. set in the 42 in. firebox (distributor catalog)
  • Required: a Majestic Vesper 36 or Vesper 42 or another approved outdoor firebox

Installation Notes

A qualified installer must connect it per the manual; line pressure above 1/2 psig (14 in. w.c.) will damage the valve, and an external regulator is needed for propane. Outdoor means open-air or partially enclosed spaces as defined in the manual. In New York City, outdoor gas fireplaces and their gas piping need NYC Fuel Gas Code and Department of Buildings approval, and propane at residences is restricted by the NYC Fire Code, so we review the space before quoting.

This is the natural gas version. Order LUM-OD-PM (propane) for the other fuel.

Does it need power?

No. It uses a piezo-lit standing pilot.

Warranty

Hearth and Home Technologies limited warranty, per the Lumonessen LUM-OD manual (4629-900): gas and electrical components are covered for one year from installation; logs, refractory and glass are covered for one year against thermal breakage; optional accessories and labor one year. Coverage begins at installation and requires purchase from an authorized HHT dealer.
