The Real Fyre Charred Split log set (CHS) recreates deeply charred, split firewood with burned-through centers, and this listing pairs it with Real Fyre's G46 vented burner system, design certified to ANSI Z21.60 and CSA 2.26. It turns an existing wood-burning fireplace into a realistic gas fire.
Choose the 18/20, 24 or 30 in. set, natural gas or propane, and either the -17 valve with variable remote, the -02 electronic valve with remote, or the logs alone for an existing G46 burner.

What Is Included and What You Will Need
- Burner options: the Charred Split log set plus the G46 burner with the selected -17 or -02 valve, per the G46 manual
- Logs Only option: the Charred Split log set alone, for an existing Real Fyre G46 burner
- With the G46, the ember screen and embers packed with the logs are not used, per Real Fyre's placement instructions
- Required: an existing, working wood-burning fireplace and chimney, and a gas line by a licensed installer
Installation Notes
The G46 is a vented appliance: install it only in a wood-burning fireplace with a working, code-compliant chimney, keep the damper open as the manual directs, and keep any glass doors fully open while it runs. Measure the opening against the minimum sizes above; the -02 electronic valve needs extra width. Installation must be done by a qualified gas installer per the G46 manual. In New York City, gas log sets are installed under the NYC Fuel Gas Code by a licensed master plumber, with DOB filing where required, and the chimney must be inspected and serviceable. Book a design consultation to plan the conversion of your wood-burning fireplace.

Which valve should I choose?
The -17 is a manual variable valve that is remote ready; the -02 is an electronic on/off remote-ready valve that runs on batteries and needs a wider opening.
Do I need a working chimney?
Yes. The G46 is a vented decorative appliance for a wood-burning fireplace with a working flue.
Can I buy the logs alone?
Yes, for an existing Real Fyre G46 burner. Use only Peterson Real Fyre burners with Real Fyre logs.
What about the embers in the box?
With the G46, discard the ember screen and embers, per Real Fyre's Charred Split instructions.

Real Fyre limited warranty, per the burner owner's manual: vented refractory gas logs and spheres are warranted for as long as the original purchaser owns them when used indoors (3 years outdoors); indoor vented gas log burners and stainless steel burners, excluding controls, 10 years; the APK-17 kit including the -17 valve 2 years; the SPK-26 kit 3 years; all other valves, pilots and controls 1 year, excluding batteries. Coverage is for the original purchaser in single family residential use in the US or Canada, starts on the date of purchase, requires proof of purchase and installation by a qualified professional, and does not cover labor.
