The SimpliFire Forum 55 (SF-OD55) is a built-in linear electric fireplace rated for indoor and outdoor use, made to frame into a patio wall, outdoor kitchen or covered terrace. It runs on standard 120V power with no gas line, venting or propane tank.
It is a flame effect appliance with no heater, drawing just 36 watts, and it frames into a 9 in. deep wall with 0 in. clearance to combustibles. Finish materials can run to the edge for a frameless look, or you can use the included self-trimming front.

- Needed: a framed wall or chase built to the framing dimensions, exterior silicone sealant and a flashing method
- Needed: a 15 A, 120V outlet or a GFCI protected hardwired circuit run by a licensed electrician
Installation Notes
The Forum must be installed in a framed wall or chase. Outdoors, plan drainage first: the unit is designed to drain moisture out of the structure, and SimpliFire calls for a drain pan where water cannot otherwise exit, plus flashing and sealant where the chase meets the wall. Mount it out of direct sun for the best flame, and have power in place before you finish the wall. Electric fireplaces need no gas line or venting, which makes this one of the simplest fire features for New York City terraces, rooftops and yards, subject to building and board approval for the electrical work. Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Forum give off heat?
No. It has no heater and draws 36 watts, so it is purely a flame effect and can sit right below a TV.
Can it be left outside in the rain?
Yes. It is weather resistant and built for outdoor use, but the wall or chase must let water drain away, which is why SimpliFire offers the SF-OD55-DP drain pan.
Does it plug in?
It ships with a GFCI protected cord and needs a 15 A, 120V circuit. It can also be hardwired, on a GFCI protected circuit outdoors.
Can it be installed indoors?
Yes. SimpliFire designs the Forum for indoor or outdoor use, always framed into a wall.

Warranty
Hearth and Home Technologies limited warranty, per the Forum owner's manual: SimpliFire electric appliances are covered for 2 years on parts and labor, except as limited by the warranty conditions and exclusions. Coverage starts at installation, is transferable to later owners at the original site, and applies to products bought from an authorized HHT dealer. Replacement parts and optional accessories are covered for 1 year, parts only.
