The SimpliFire Triton 78 is the largest unit in the Triton series, pairing a 20 inch tall viewing area with a 78 inch span to anchor a big room. It recesses into rough framing so stone, tile or drywall can run right to the edge, and the same unit can be set up single-sided, as a two-sided corner or as a three-sided bay. It is hardwired, so there is no gas line or vent.

Installation Notes
The Triton is hardwired and should be installed by a licensed electrician following the installation manual. Keep cords, drapery and furnishings at least 3 feet from the front. If it is used in a bathroom it must be on a GFI protected circuit. There is no vent or gas line, which makes electric a practical option for many NYC apartments and condos. Does the Triton 78 need a vent or gas line?
No. It is fully electric and hardwired. It needs a 120 V, 15 amp circuit, or a 240 V, 20 amp circuit for up to 10,000 BTU of heat.
Can I install it as a corner or bay fireplace?
Yes. The same unit can be configured single-sided, two-sided corner (left or right) or three-sided bay.
Can I put a mantel or TV above it?
The manual lists 5/8 inch minimum clearance to a mantel with unlimited mantel depth. Check the manual for any weight limits and heat considerations before you finalize the wall.
How much space will it heat?
SimpliFire lists a heating range up to 400 square feet. Treat it as supplemental heat rather than a primary heat source.
