Description

The Superior EPA-HEATFLO-KIT is the HeatFlo convection kit for the Superior WCT4920WS EPA-certified wood-burning fireplace. Two insulated 8 in ducts carry warm air from the top of the fireplace to outlets in the same room or in adjacent or upper rooms, and Superior makes the kit mandatory when the Clean Face facade is used.

What Is Included and What You Will Need

  • 2 wall thimble assemblies, 2 duct adaptors, 2 duct rings, 2 white grills
  • 2 insulated 8 in x 10 ft aluminum flex ducts, screws and instruction sheet
  • You will need: a 5/16 in hex driver and No. 2 Phillips screwdriver

Installation Notes

Plan and frame the fireplace and outlet locations first. Both hot air outlets must be used, ducts must never pitch downward, grills go in with the louvers pointing down, and the ducts must not connect to a central heating system or touch the flue pipe (WCT4920 manual).

New York City does not permit new wood-burning fireplaces under Local Law 38 of 2015, so this kit is for installations outside the five boroughs where local code allows them.

Only with the Clean Face facade, where Superior makes this kit mandatory. Otherwise it is optional.

Can the warm air go to another room?

Yes. The manual allows one or both outlets in adjacent or upper rooms.
