The Superior VRE3242 is a 42 in. outdoor vent-free gas fireplace (VRE3200 series) with a charred oak style ceramic fiber log set, white stacked or herringbone refractory liners and stainless steel on the weather-exposed surfaces. It is rated 30,000 to 45,000 BTU/h on natural gas and runs from a battery pack with a remote-ready control, so no 120 V wiring is needed. It is built for covered patios, outdoor kitchens and qualifying screened porches, never for indoor rooms.

Plan water management (drain pan) for exposed sites. Gas connection by a licensed plumber; in New York City gas piping requires a licensed master plumber and permit.
