Frequently Asked Questions
Is the refractory included?
Yes. White stacked or white herringbone refractory panels ship with the firebox in the pattern you select.
What chimney does it use?
An IHP 8 in. inside diameter wood-burning chimney, 8DM or the heavier 8HT recommended for cold climates.
How tall must the chimney be outdoors?
The WRE3036 manual calls for at least 7-1/2 ft from the fireplace base to the flue gas outlet, including at least 4 ft of chimney pipe.
Can I use gas logs?
Yes, with listed logs. Vent-free log heaters require the IHP stainless hood. Vent-free gas appliances cannot be installed in New York City under the NYC Fuel Gas Code. We sell this model for installations outside the five boroughs where local code allows it.
