The Outdoor Plus Maya 24 in. Square Fire Bowl in Brown (OPT-24SFO-BRN) is a compact, low-profile gas fire bowl hand-cast from glass fiber reinforced concrete (GFRC) with the color mixed through the material. It suits pool copings, terrace corners and planter-style layouts where a full fire pit table is too large, and it can be grouped with matching Maya planters and water bowls. Each bowl is plumbed to a permanent natural gas or propane line and is offered with match lit ignition, match lit with a key valve, or 12 V electronic ignition.

What Is Included and What You Will Need

  • Included: GFRC bowl, 304 stainless steel pan and ring burner, NG or LP orifice, whistle-free hose, black lava rock; electronic ignition versions add the 12 V ignition system and transformer; key valve versions add the OPT-KVI key valve installed on the bowl
  • Required: hard-piped natural gas or propane line with an accessible shutoff outside the bowl, installed by a licensed gas professional; a breathable cover; for electronic ignition, a 110 V supply and low voltage wiring
  • Not suitable for: small portable propane tanks

Installation Notes

The Maya bowl is set on a level, well-drained surface and connected to permanent gas piping with a shutoff valve outside the bowl, following The Outdoor Plus fire bowl manual; yellow corrugated gas line is not allowed. Electronic ignition models are wired at 12 V AC from the supplied transformer by a licensed electrician. In New York City, gas piping on terraces and rooftops requires a licensed master plumber and permits, and building rules often apply. Frequently Asked Questions

Can I run it on a 20 lb propane tank?

No. The Outdoor Plus states its fire bowls are not for use with small LP tanks and must be connected to permanent fixed gas piping.

How much heat does the 24 in. Maya produce?

The Outdoor Plus spec sheet rates the 24 in. Maya at 45,000 BTU/h with a single 304 stainless ring burner.

What does the key valve do?

The OPT-KVI key valve is installed on the bowl so you can set flame height at the fire feature.

Does it need a cover?

Yes. The Outdoor Plus requires the bowl to be covered when not in use; use a breathable cover.
