Summit Oak logs with Summit dual-burner system, high-capacity millivolt pilot and wall switch. Select the same natural gas or propane configuration. The 42″/48″ listing has a log-size selector on the 42″ burner; log counts, heat input, grate and minimum fireplace dimensions vary. Verify the model’s specifications before ordering.

The Hargrove Summit Oak is a large vented gas log set of freshly cut oak logs on the Summit burner system, which combines a large ember bed burner with an elevated tube-style secondary burner for depth and height in a bigger fireplace. This listing uses the 42 in burner kit with either the 42 in or 48 in Summit Oak logs, with a high-capacity millivolt pilot and wall switch that need no household power.

What Is Included and What You Will Need
- Included per Hargrove for 42 to 48 in sets: BPG-36 pedestal grate, EB-31 ember burner, BB-27 secondary burner with mounting brackets and orifice, silica sand, fire embers, volcanic cinders, aluminum connectors and fittings, plus the Summit Oak logs and the millivolt valve system
- Required: a fully vented, non-combustible fireplace approved for wood, a gas supply and a licensed installer
- Propane: an automatic pilot system must be used, and the propane burner (42SPBB2B3) must be ordered for propane supply
Installation Notes
Center the ember burner on the fireplace floor under the flue with the burner pipe visible, at least 4 in back from the opening, and use the factory orifices supplied. Leak test every joint with soapy water, keep the damper and any glass doors fully open during burning, and use a fire screen. Hargrove lists this burner as not certified, so confirm acceptance with your local code official before ordering. In New York City, gas work must be done by a licensed master plumber under permit. Both use the same 42 in Summit burner. The 48 in logs need a fireplace at least 56 in wide; the 42 in logs need 50 in. Both need 28 in of depth.
Does it need electricity?
No. It uses a millivolt pilot system with a wall switch.
Is there a propane version?
Yes, 42SPBB2B3, rated 125,000 BTU. It must be ordered for propane; a natural gas set must not be used on propane.
Can I burn wood in it afterward?
No. Hargrove says not to burn wood with this set.

Warranty
Per Hargrove: limited lifetime on the refractory logs for indoor installations, 5 years on the burner and grate, and 2 years on valves, remote controls and switching devices and other parts. All categories are 1 year for outdoor use. Defects must be reported within 30 days of discovery.
